From the Commander
The Memorial Service held at the Post on Sunday February 21st was well attended. This Post lost  fourteen Comrades and six members of the Auxiliary in 2009. The  Auxiliary was instrumental in making sure this event was a success.  Our own Jennifer sang, and Dave assisted her with the music. Thank you very much.  The flood is going to impact our events for March and more information will come from Mike. Therefore, the Post Membership Dinner (birthday party) is cancelled for now.  This flood is going to need a lot of volunteers to include our own kitchen. It is very likely that Post 21 will be feeding the troops again this year and your help will be appreciated. I am sure Mike will put the word out.
The Post By- Laws will have the third reading and will be voted on at our next Post meeting, March 10. If there are any questions regarding the By-Laws, please attend the next Executive Committee meeting on March 8th, at 5:30, or attend the Post meeting. Copies of the By-Laws will be available at those meetings. Past Commander Gary Olson and others started this process more than a year ago.
Conversation outside these meetings regarding the By-Laws, or other Post business, is not always accurate. I am sure most of you have heard or played the game “telephone”.  What is said at first is not always translated correctly as the
information passes from one person to the next. If you are concerned, please attend the meetings. Your suggestions are always welcome and so is your participation.

MEMBERSHIP DUES: If you don’t yet have your 2010 membership card, please consider renewing soon. Our membership year runs from July to July rather than following the calendar year. A current concern is that members who have not paid their 2010 dues by January 31 lose their membership privileges and benefits until their dues are paid.
